Inspiration

As students, we frequently have to research and write essays for the classes we take. Sometimes, we get a little lazy and do it last minute. Having an algorithm that automatically cites the sources can relieve some of the pressure and save some time that comes with writing papers. While it does the work for you, you can relax.

What it does

It autonomously grabs the url's for different sources that you have open in your browser and plugs them into easybib, a website for generating citations in any desired format.

How we built it

We utilized the tool set within UiPath to build our software.

Challenges we ran into

We found that the documentation for UiPath was not satisfactory. As well as some features within the UiPath software were very specific and could easily be misinterpreted.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning how to use UiPath as it is a new skill. Along with the being able to finish our software in under 10 hours, and not having good documentation, we are proud of this project.

What we learned

Learning about the details is important when automating a task, and having a pre-defined set layout to use is helpful.

What's next for CiteSite

Instead of utilizing easybib, we would like to implement a citation generator ourselves. We would also like to investigate slower portions of the software, and optimize our methods.The accessibility of the software also should be improved, via a website.
