Circuits Class

We created Circuits Class for the education track of Code for Good 2020!

Inspiration

We wanted to combine our love for education and Minecraft into an educational game in Minecraft. Since we were both familiar with propositional logic, we went with that as our subject matter.

What it does

Circuits Class educates the player on AND, OR, and NOT logic gates using fun puzzles!

How we built it

First, we wrote the datapack that handled the logic gate behavior. Then, we made the puzzles and textures. Lastly, we put it all in one world and turned it into an adventure map.

Challenges we ran into

Completing everything on time was a challenge! We also ran into some parts of our Minecraft commands that didn't behave as expected, and had to come up with creative solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created custom logic gate Minecraft blocks!

What we learned

We learned to budget time for unexpected bugs, and that creating textures is harder than we expected!

What's next for Circuits Class

We hope to add more puzzles to Circuits Class in the future, and maybe even introduce new gates!
