Designing a PCB is more than drawing a circuit. An engineer has to translate requirements into an architecture, select compatible components, understand datasheets, design connections, validate the circuit, prepare a BOM, and consider component availability and cost.
For students and early-stage engineers, this process can be difficult because the information and tools required for each stage are fragmented.
We asked ourselves:
What if an AI could work alongside an electronics engineer throughout the design process instead of simply answering questions about electronics?
That question led us to build Circuit-Mind AI.
Our Inspiration
Our inspiration came from the gap between describing an electronics idea and actually implementing it.
An engineer might say:
"I want to build a compact 5V ESP32-based temperature monitoring PCB."
But turning that requirement into a real design involves many engineering decisions:
Which ESP32 variant should be used?
Which temperature sensor satisfies the accuracy requirement?
How should the power architecture be designed?
What protection and decoupling components are required?
Are the selected components electrically compatible?
Are any important specifications missing?
Can the components be sourced at a reasonable cost?
Existing AI tools can answer individual questions, but they generally do not maintain the complete engineering context.
We wanted to build something different.
What We Built
Circuit-Mind AI is an AI-augmented framework for intelligent PCB circuit design with supply-chain intelligence.
Instead of treating AI as a simple chatbot, CircuitMind AI is designed as an AI Hardware Engineer that works through an engineering workflow:
Natural Language Requirement ↓ Requirement Understanding ↓ Missing Specification Detection ↓ Engineering Planning ↓ Component Selection ↓ Circuit Architecture ↓ Circuit Design ↓ Validation ↓ Correction ↓ BOM & Supply Chain Analysis
The user starts by describing what they want to build in natural language.
The system then converts that requirement into structured engineering information, identifies missing specifications, recommends components, proposes the circuit architecture, validates the design, and prepares the information required for BOM and supply-chain analysis.
The AI Hardware Engineer
The core of Circuit-Mind AI is the AI Engineer.
Instead of generating a single response and stopping, the system is designed around an agentic workflow.
The AI can reason about:
Engineering requirements
Electrical constraints
Component selection
Power architecture
Circuit blocks
Component connections
Validation
BOM requirements
Supply-chain considerations
For example, if a user specifies a 5V input for an ESP32-based system, Circuit-Mind AI should not blindly assume that the ESP32 operates directly from 5V.
It can identify the required voltage architecture, highlight missing specifications, recommend an appropriate approach, and explain the engineering reasoning.
A major part of CircuitMind AI is its AI infrastructure.
We use NVIDIA Nemotron through Nebius as the intelligence layer for the engineering workflow.
The model is used for tasks such as:
Requirement analysis
Engineering reasoning
Component recommendations
Design planning
Validation analysis
Design explanations
Agentic interactions
Our goal is not to simply add an LLM to a PCB interface.
We are using NVIDIA's AI capabilities and Nebius infrastructure as part of an engineering-agent architecture.
NVIDIA Nemotron + Nebius + structured electronics engineering tools form the foundation of Circuit-Mind AI.
