Inspiration

Circle of Calm began with a simple idea: meditation should feel natural, visual, and responsive. Instead of passive videos or static screens, I wanted a space where your touch creates gentle motion, light, and voice guidance. The project was inspired by the way small interactions can shift our state of mind and how calm visuals can support mindful breathing.

What it does

Circle of Calm combines interactive particle art with guided voice sequences to create a soothing, customizable meditation experience.

Touch the screen → calming circles float, drift, and glow Particles stay alive and move around the screen like soft, mindful energy It’s relaxation through touch, sound, and motion working together.

How I built it

I created an interactive meditation experience centered around calm visual motion and guided, AI-generated audio. All of the voice content was produced using ElevenLabs and Google AI, experimenting with multiple models to find tones that felt soft, slow, and emotionally neutral. I had to fine-tune pacing, intonation, and breath style so the guidance matched the gentle rhythm of the visual experience.

Challenges I ran into

Crafting the right vocal tone using ElevenLabs and Google AI (balancing warmth, clarity, and calm pacing) Tuning the audio timing so each segment transitions seamlessly Matching the visual rhythm to the tempo of the generated voice Ensuring the audio sequence never repeats or jumps backward Maintaining a smooth experience even with many particles drifting on-screen

Accomplishments that I am proud of

Producing a meditative voice experience entirely from AI-generated audio Successfully blending visuals with the emotional timing of the narration Achieving a soothing flow where each audio segment naturally “hands off” to the next Creating a calm, touch-responsive environment that feels relaxing instead of stimulating

What I learned

I gained deeper insight into: How to tune AI-generated speech for meditation (pace, warmth, breath spacing, emphasis) How different ElevenLabs voice models react to prompts and style instructions How Google AI voices can be shaped for softness, clarity, and emotional neutrality How important it is to balance audio timing, visual motion, and user interaction How subtle changes in sound pacing dramatically affect the overall calmness of the experience

What's next for Circle Of Calm

  • Add breathing-paced particle patterns
  • Introduce AI-generated voice guidance
  • Optional background ambient music that adapts to touch
  • More particle “themes” (glow rings, mist, stardust, waves)
  • User-created particle presets via an in-app editor
  • Mobile optimizations for longer meditation sessions

Category

  • This project is best classified under Experimental / Open because it is designed as a relaxation and meditation experience rather than a traditional game genre. It blends minimalist, atmospheric visuals with AI-generated voice guidance, creating an interactive, mood-driven environment that focuses on calmness and presence. Since it doesn't fit neatly into action, puzzle, narrative, or simulation categories and instead emphasizes vibe, experience, and emotional tone, the Experimental / Open category is the most accurate and intentional fit.
