CIP (Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhidrosis) is a rare medical illness where people aren’t able to feel pain or even sweat. Our website was made to improve their lives a little more.

Inspiration

Netflix Doctors series and prior biology knowledge from Cambridge international Olevel’s Education GCSE.

What it does

This app helps patients with CIPA live their lives easier and maybe even develop good habits for taking care of themselves

How I built it

We made a website with HTML/CSS but added as much interaction as possible for the user with JavaScript, Firebase authentication and data management, and Claude AI for health suggestions

Challenges I ran into

Our biggest obstacle was definitely thinking of an idea that would help people, because that’s a goal we all shared. Thankfully, we came up with this one.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We have learned so much about backend development with Firebase and even some Machine Learning through coding a model that would give health suggestions to users

What I learned

Backend with Firebase, using AI to debug code intelligently, managing databases, user authentication, how to come up with a good idea

What's next for CIPA Watch

We’re planning to incorporate an actual AI chat bot to talk to and give support to the patient suffering with CIPA. We think CIPA which even children suffer from should be talked about more and we’re more than happy to contribute to its publicity in the future!
