Inspiration

In the high-stakes world of Media & Entertainment (M&E), live broadcast failures—such as 4K stream dropouts, GPU VRAM saturation, and SRT network jitter—cost studios millions and ruin viewer experiences. Traditional monitoring requires manual dashboard diving during a crisis. We were inspired to build CineVisor-Ops to bring autonomous, agentic intelligence directly to media infrastructure operations.

What it does

CineVisor-Ops is an elite, autonomous M&E infrastructure operations agent that connects live studio pipelines with the Grafana Cloud MCP (Model Context Protocol). It allows operations teams to select or input broadcast incident scenarios, execute real-time telemetry queries (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and IRM), perform deep root-cause analysis (RCA), and trigger automated remediations instantly through an intuitive enterprise dashboard.

How we built it

  • Agentic Logic & AI Brain: Powered by Google Gemini 3.6 Flash using advanced function-calling and automatic execution tools via Python.
  • Observability & MCP Integration: Connected natively to the Grafana Cloud MCP endpoint (mcp.grafana.com) with OAuth 2.1 interactive browser authorization.
  • Backend Architecture: Built with a robust, modular Python Flask framework following an Enterprise MVC pattern (app.py, core/agent.py, templates/index.html).
  • Frontend & Rendering: Developed a modern, responsive studio control interface equipped with a dynamic Markdown parser for gorgeous technical reports.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating interactive OAuth 2.1 authentication within an autonomous agent loop required careful handling of session tokens and HTTP headers (X-Grafana-URL). Furthermore, designing clean telemetry payloads that bridge low-level video encoding errors (like NVENC CUDA buffer overflows) with high-level LLM reasoning was a thrilling engineering challenge solved within a high-velocity development sprint.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully implemented Actual Runtime Integration with the official Grafana Cloud MCP server, fully satisfying the hackathon's core track requirements.
  • Developed an end-to-end production-ready Enterprise MVC application from scratch under tight deadlines.
  • Created a seamless markdown-rendered UI that transforms complex OpenTelemetry metrics into actionable executive incident reports.

What we learned

We gained deep expertise in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server architectures, OAuth 2.1 client workflows, and leveraging Gemini 3.6 Flash for deterministic enterprise automation and incident response.

What's next for CineVisor-Ops

  • Expanding autonomous remediation playbooks to support multi-cloud cluster failovers.
  • Integrating real-time OpenTelemetry monitoring via Grafana Cloud AI Observability for tracking agent token usage and costs.
  • Deploying live webhook triggers for automated Slack and PagerDuty incident escalation.
