Inspiration
Inspirations In the age of endless streaming sources, group movie nights amongst a group of friends can often stall before even starting. Often times it may even result in an unfairly picked movie being watched.
What it does
Our solution offers a genre based filtration for movies that presents movies in a side swipe format. All users for the decision making can join the session through a join code and proceed to swipe right or left to vote for each title. Movies can also be super liked to give them extra weighting. After all the movies have been voted on by all users, the results of the vote are polled and displayed.
How we built it
The platforms backbone forged with robust, type-safe capabilities used express js for the backend ensuring a scalable application that is capable of dealing with real-time decision making. On the frontend, react was used in addition with typescript.

APIs took a while to work with.

Managed to get finished project with working UI demo within 24 hours
What we learned
Learned how to fetch to the omdb api, learned to use gpt api, learned how to setup api routes to fetch movies through custom prompts.
What's next for CineSwipe - cinematic experiences, one swipe at a time.
Polish up and get production ready.
