Inspiration

The world of filmmaking is changing rapidly with AI, but creators still struggle to turn a simple idea into a structured, cinematic blueprint. We were inspired to build an AI agent that acts as a co-director, taking a raw story concept and instantly building out characters, scripts, and visual prompts.

What it does

Our project takes a simple text prompt from the user. An autonomous AI agent then breaks it down into a traditional three-act movie script, generates rich character profiles, and outputs precise visual prompts that creators can feed into video generation tools.

How we built it

We built the core logic using Python to handle the agentic workflows. We utilized the Google Gemini API (via Google Cloud) for deep reasoning, script generation, and structured text outputs. The application logic manages context loops to keep the narrative consistent across different scenes.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was maintaining plot and character consistency across multiple acts. AI models can sometimes forget minor character traits introduced early on. We solved this by using a structured system prompt that forces the agent to reference a "character sheet" database before writing each scene.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a seamless pipeline that transforms a five-word idea into a comprehensive, multi-page cinematic blueprint in under 30 seconds.

What we learned

We learned how to design robust agentic workflows, chain LLM outputs together efficiently, and optimize system prompts to guarantee highly creative yet structured outputs.

What's next for CineAgent AI

We plan to integrate text-to-video APIs directly into the app so users can generate actual video previews of their scripts with a single click.
