Inspiration

Chymes was built during a Cohort called Buildspace. It was a random idea that popped up in my mind while I was looking out the window listening to songs on Spotify during a rainy day.

What it does

It curates a Spotify playlist consisting of 20 songs for a user based on their location and adds it to their Spotify account automatically. The user has an option to exclude certain artists and have a genre-specific playlist.

How I built it

The frontend was developed using HTML , CSS, and Javascript while the backend was developed using Flask. It was connected to Openweathermap API and Spotify API to fetch location-based weather status and on the basis of it fetch songs that align with such weather. The website was hosted on Pythonanywhere.com.

Challenges I ran into

Due to my unfamiliarity with Frontend development, it was quite difficult to build a web application. I had to use AI to perform bug fixes and clean up the code.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This was my first Web application which was built within a short span of 6 week and worked well with a good response from the Cohort organizers.
