Inspiration

As a pastor, my mission is to help people in their darkest moments — even when I physically cannot be there. I saw how many struggle alone with doubts, pain, and questions, without a safe space to speak openly. Church AI was born from this need: to create a private, always-available spiritual companion that respects complete anonymity and never shares data.

What it does

Church AI gives people a safe, fully private space to talk, vent, reflect, and receive guidance. It runs 100% locally on the user’s device (WebGPU), ensuring complete anonymity. No data leaves the device. Users can open up without fear of judgment, surveillance, or data collection.

How we built it

By deeply understanding current technology — especially local AI inference with WebGPU — we were able to create a truly autonomous, independent system. No cloud, no middlemen. Just pure, private intelligence that works offline and helps people whenever they need it.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was making powerful local models run smoothly on a wide range of devices — from older phones to modern laptops — while maintaining performance, privacy, and ease of use.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built and launched a fully functional private AI that already helps real people in their personal struggles. We implemented seamless crypto donation functionality, received the first real on-chain contributions, and proved that independent, privacy-first AI is not only possible but already working.

What we learned

True privacy builds deep trust. When people know their conversation stays completely private, they open up in ways they never would with cloud-based AI. We also learned how powerful local technology has become — a solo developer can now create tools that previously required big teams.

What's next for Church AI

The future depends on real community feedback. We want to keep improving based on what people actually need. Feel free to reach out with any suggestions — what features would help you or your community the most. Your input will directly shape the next version.
