Inspiration
My inspiration was based off of the chrome dinosaur game and other 2d runner games.
What it does
Chump is a simple, 2d runner game that progressively gets harder overtime. It is quite tough and the objective is to get the highest score possible!
How we built it
I built it using, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and the Javascript Canvas API.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges I ran into was creating the sprites. This is one of my first ever games I am making, so I challenged myself to create fully unique sprites. While I did use a few references like from Super Mario, and pixel art from Google, it was tough fining a good drawing program that was simple to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of the simple fact that I finished fast. I have done a few Hackakthons in the past and haven't been able to successfully finish them or come up with a game/project I'm proud of.
What we learned
I learned that your code must be understandable. As a result, I put a lot of comments and functions that allow another person to easibly understand my though process and how the game works.
What's next for Chump
For Chump, I want to add a bunch of other aspects that will make it unique like coins and a shop that allow you to buy new skins for the chicken. I also want a way to name the chicken so that it feels more personal. I also want to make it so the chicken can crouch under another enemy like a falcon or bird. I would also want to add platforms that the chicken can jump on. I also want to add a few unique backgrounds as you progress like a farm, a city, a suburb, etc.
