Inspiration
Loneliness in the elderly will affect 2 million people by 2026. Loneliness can lead to depression and is a challenge we all face. Currently there is no app that focuses on connecting elderly individuals. Apps that connect people such as Facebook, Instagram etc. We propose connecting lonely individuals on one app to discover new friends with similar interests. Internet use is growing amongst this cohort and there has never been a better time to solve this issue.
Chuckaboo is a Victorian term for a beloved friend.
What it does
It connects elderly individuals who are lonely, allowing them to talk about their interests, hobbies and meet up in person. We hope this will give elderly people who to re-connect with people of similar interests/backgrounds, sparking new found friendships.
How I built it
Proto.io - an online app prototype developer.
Challenges I ran into
Using the online website for the first time, deciding on UI and functions included in the app. Issues with privacy.
