Inspiration
Families, freelancers and small studios keep thousands of sensitive contracts, invoices, receipts and warranty cards on their NAS. Cloud AI tools mean uploading private financial records; plain NAS search only matches filenames. ChronoVault turns a UGREEN AI NAS into a zero-trust, local-first document obligation steward.
What it does
ChronoVault Steward is a UGOS skill that:
- Discovers and fingerprints new invoices, contracts, receipts and warranty documents in user-authorized folders using idempotent SHA-256 content addressing.
- Extracts structured metadata on-device (counterparty, effective date, warranty/renewal deadline, amount, currency, tax category, cancellation notice window, action clauses) with local OCR/VLM and the UGOS Knowledge CLI.
- Builds a non-destructive virtual ledger with symlink views (By-Year, By-Vendor, Expiring-30-Days, Tax-Deductible) so original folders are never altered.
- Generates proactive digests and reminders before warranties expire, auto-renewals close their cancellation window, or tax filings are due.
How we built it
A 3-stage state machine: (1) idempotent ingestion and SHA-256 delta scan, (2) local multimodal extraction with schema validation, (3) symlink taxonomy sync and 7/14/30-day obligation alerting. Source folders are read-only; writes are confined to /volume1/ChronoVault; network scope is offline-local-only.
