Every day, millions of packets are sent from our computers, dozens of programs, routed through hundreds of switches, and travel through hundreds of kilometers of network cables. Eventually, they end up on the opposite side of the globe in moments, just from the click of a button.
With so many packets being sent and received every second, there’s hardly any time to keep track of where you’re connecting. It’s extremely difficult to catch anomalies or spot background applications sending data to malicious sites.
Chronotrace allows for easy visualization of network traffic by tracking your incoming and outgoing traffic using a background desktop tool. It enables us to build a global web of your internet travels, while letting you visualize your traffic web over time. With insightful statistics and mesmerizing visuals, we hope to help you visualize your traffic quickly and easily.
During the development of our project, we organized our work using Kanban boards, creating issues and holding regular check-ins to assign and review tasks. Our goal was to develop a single-page, interactive, and sleekly designed application. We took this opportunity to learn Svelte and FastAPI. Throughout the development process, we encountered numerous bugs, but we persevered, finding solutions and maintaining high team morale.
