Chronoscope was inspired by the idea that while we constantly track time using clocks and calendars, many people struggle to feel how time actually passes. This is especially common in individuals experiencing “time blindness,” where tasks feel shorter or longer than they really are. We became interested in the concept of chronoception, the brain’s internal sense of time, and explored how design could make this invisible sense more visible and understandable. Through research on ADHD, time perception, and cognitive timing experiments, we designed Chronoscope, an app that compares estimated and actual task durations, provides insights about personal time perception patterns, and includes short calibration exercises to help users train their internal clock. The project was built through user research, persona development, journey mapping, and prototyping in Figma. One of the biggest challenges was translating complex neuroscience concepts into simple, intuitive experiences without overwhelming users with data. Through this process, we learned that helping people understand their relationship with time is less about measuring productivity and more about building awareness and confidence in how they plan their day.
