💡 Inspiration

Mental health fluctuations and sudden fatigue dips aren't personal failures—they are heavily dictated by subtle environmental stressors like barometric pressure drops and circadian vulnerability.

Inspired by 2026 research published in Drug Discoveries & Therapeutics (DOI: 10.5582/ddt.2026.01019), we built ChronoMind to empower individuals to stop blaming themselves for "bad days" and start scientifically predicting and managing their biological resilience.

ChronoMind acts as a proactive circadian health companion that bridges environmental data with personal well-being:

  • Real-time Barometric Pressure Sync: Automatically fetches local pressure data via Open-Meteo API.
  • 1-Second Micro Logging: Seamlessly tracks brain fatigue and physical fatigue with zero friction.
  • 7-Day Forecast Alert: Predicts upcoming pressure drops and warns users before fatigue hits.
  • Doctor-Ready PDF Correlation Report: Visualizes personal fatigue trends against pressure changes, complete with AI-generated notes for physicians.
  • Deep Chrono-Therapy Prescription: Offers targeted interventions (light therapy, hydration, 4-7-8 breathing) grounded in 2026 chronobiology algorithms.
  • Golden VIP Suite: Integrated RevenueCat Paywall with a seamless transition to a luxury gold-themed PRO suite for subscribers.

🛠 How we built it

  • Frontend & Architecture: Native Android application built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • AI Pair Programming: Developed end-to-end utilizing JetBrains Junie (CLI & IDE Integration) as an autonomous AI pair programmer.
  • Monetization & Paywall: Integrated RevenueCat SDK for managing subscription plans, dynamic paywalls, and free trials.
  • Weather Infrastructure: Fetches real-time and 7-day forecast atmospheric pressure via Open-Meteo API.

🥊 Challenges we ran into

Designing a seamless transition between free and premium features without harming user experience was our biggest challenge. We spent significant effort tuning the Paywall logic and creating a distinct "Golden VIP Suite" UI that makes subscribers feel genuinely valued, while ensuring non-subscribers can preview premium capabilities with zero friction.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Achieving a zero-friction "1-second log" experience that users can maintain long-term.
  • Building a full-fledged, publication-backed health application with a cohesive, luxury dark-gold design.
  • Successfully leveraging JetBrains Junie to accelerate development speed by over 3x.

📚 What we learned

We gained deep insights into translating complex chronobiology research into intuitive UX. We also mastered rapid Android development using JetBrains Junie and effective paywall architecture with RevenueCat.
