About the Project

ChronoIndy.com was born from a passion for fine timepieces and a frustration with the disjointed, opaque luxury watch ecosystem. From scattered information across forums and auction houses to rampant counterfeiting and wildly inconsistent pricing, the industry lacked a unified, trustworthy platform. ChronoIndy aims to fix that—with intelligence.

We envisioned a one-stop AI-powered platform where collectors, resellers, and retailers could get real-time market insights, reliable authentication, and portfolio-grade collection tools—all under one elegant digital roof.

Inspiration

What inspired us was simple: chaos in the luxury watch world. Watch lovers struggled to track price trends. Investors had no clear view of market appreciation. Resellers faced constant risks from counterfeit products. Retailers lacked dynamic pricing benchmarks.

We knew that AI could bring clarity, confidence, and intelligence to this space—just like it has in stocks, real estate, and digital art.

How We Built It

ChronoIndy.com was built using a combination of:

Bolt.new, OpenAI APIs (Vision capabilities to understand user inputs and context around watches) & Supabase

Web scraping and marketplace APIs to gather real-time data from leading platforms and auctions

A dynamic dashboard for users to manage collections, receive personalised alerts, and track investment potential

We focused on building a modular AI engine that could grow with the platform—starting with data aggregation and evolving into predictive intelligence.

Challenges We Faced

Building ChronoIndy wasn’t easy. Data Inconsistency: Pricing and listings vary wildly across platforms. Authentication Accuracy: Getting AI to do the exact identification was a challenge UX Complexity: Designing a dashboard that works for both tech-savvy investors and passionate hobbyists took iteration. Scaling Intelligence: Real-time analysis across multiple global sources strained infrastructure—demanding optimization at every step.

What We Learned

AI is only as strong as the data it learns from—so curating quality watch data was non-negotiable. Collectors and investors care deeply about trust and accuracy. We learned to balance technology with credibility and simplicity. Design matters. A premium product for a premium audience needs an intuitive, elegant experience.
