The Downfall was inspired by the Mafia and other criminal underworld elements. Its focus on power, survival, and choice. I wanted to take those same themes and place them in an anime style setting, showing how a single night could unravel an entire empire. It tells Olivia Eclipse’s story in a cinematic, emotionally-charged way — combining noir-style narration, character-driven tension, and choreographed visuals to bring the fall of the Eclipse Family to life as both a spectacle and a personal tragedy.

The story was built through a mix of scripted monologues, voiceover design, and animation workflows. For the first time, I also worked in landscape mode from previous works that I have felt more comfortable in portrait mode. This pushed the presentation closer to a film trailer than a standalone scene.

Some of the challenges I ran into was balancing visual spectacle with narrative clarity and adapting formats to make my debut for YouTube.

I’m proud that "The Downfall" and the Chroma Awards has pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to work with time restraints and try new techniques to make the trailer come together.
