Inspiration

I was inspired by all the trendy, silicon-valley, buzz-worthiness surrounding the field of Cybersecurity and Cryptography these days. So I made a Caesar Cipher encoder decoder.

What it does

Let's say you have a message you would like to send but you don't want anyone to read the message. One can input some text (your message) into the text box and the Caesar Cipher will output a scrambled version. If you or your friend, that you are are sending the message to, have the Cipher "shift key", you can use that to unscramble the message, simply by pasting in the scrambled message into the text box and the "shift key" separately. Typically the "shift key" would be a secret; you would hide it somewhere or your let your friend know about it beforehand.

How I built it

I used an agent to help me build it, it only took a few minutes.

Challenges I ran into

Let's see, first, I'm a hunt and peck slow typer, so I'm going to have to get faster at typing somehow...

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that I'm dipping my toes in the water of WebDev and CompSci.

What I learned

By following the instructions "paint by numbers style" one can produce web apps that no one will probably ever use.

What's next for Christopher's Portfolio

More web apps that will never see the light of day.
