ChoreChamps

This application is a platform that helps maintain the chores assigned to children by their parents. It provides an interesting and fun way to do it. "Turning To-Dos into Ta-Das!" This application was built for the sake of 'World's Largest Hackathon' 2025 using Bolt.new AI platform.

Inspiration

Children are filled with a lot of energy and enthusiasm which needs to be shaped into disciple and responsibility with time. Parents assign some chores to their children to bring these features which could seem like a burden when it becomes a "responsibility". What if this was turned into a fun game and an interesting challenge? This application is also helpful for working parents to manage the chores for their children better.

What it does

This application enables the parents to assign chores to their children. Children can complete their chores to gain points, interesting badges, rewards and streaks. It also allows children to attempt daily quiz challenge. It helps children to maintain a healthy chore-completion challenge as well.

How I built it

Firstly, after brainstorming with the ideas I made a note of all the initial requirements for the application. Secondly, I gave some descriptive prompts to Bolt.new to create the application with the features I had planned. Then I made small changes in the application UI and functionalities. At the end I deployed the application using Netlify.

Challenges I ran into

First I faced an issue to think what features could I add in my application to make it unique and sellable in the market. I also faced issues with some UI features implementation. Although, these challenges were small to complete my first prototype.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It makes completion of chores interesting for the child. The application also focuses on a daily learning challenge making it beneficial for knowledge gain. Does not miss out on the reward system which children love!

What I learned

I learnt a lot in this journey to build this application. I was exposed to various tools, understand what are the constraints to consider to build an application and I also learnt to give better prompts. This journey helped me think of more ideas which i can implement in the future.

What's next for ChoreChamps

In the future, I would like to bring in additional functionalities to make the application more interesting. Create a database for long-term use and also build privacy features for the profiles.
