Inspiration
Concert days are supposed to be fun but between finding parking, booking hotels, and meeting up with friends, they can quickly turn chaotic. Our team wanted to make concerts easier to plan and more social. Chour.us was inspired by the idea of creating a central hub that connects fans, businesses, and events all in one space.
What it does
Chour.us is a social concert planning platform that allows users to easily find hotels, restaurants, and parking near the venue while also joining community chats and fan projects. The app also features AI-powered scheduling, which helps fans organize their concert day efficiently. Local businesses can promote exclusive offers or events for concert-goers, creating a community-driven ecosystem that benefits everyone involved. Also allows for generated schedules to help you on your concert day.
How we built it
We built Chour.us using React with Vite for a fast and modular frontend and structured the project for future integration with a Node.js and Express backend. Our design process involved creating mockups in Figma and testing different color schemes to match the concert atmosphere. Generative AI used for scheduling.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the main challenges we encountered included setting up the React environment, managing multiple branches and merges on GitHub, and debugging blank render issues caused by component errors. Under time constraints also required quick adaptation and teamwork. Despite these challenges, we are proud that we were able to build a functional and visually appealing web app within the hackathon timeline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to complete the project in time while having fun!
What we learned
Through this project, we learned how to manage team collaboration using GitHub, build React apps from the ground up, and design user-friendly interfaces that tie functionality with aesthetic appeal. We also learned how to utilize AI APIs effectively to improve user experience and automate event planning tasks.
What's next for Chor.us
Looking ahead, we plan to expand Chor.us by developing a mobile version using React Native, adding real-time maps for parking and navigation, and including user authentication and profiles. We also hope to partner with local businesses to offer live promotions and add Gemini integration for real-time updates such as traffic, concert delays, and nearby events.
