Inspiration
Some of us were choosing minor degrees and needed help on finding out good minors to take and what would the most helpful in the future. We believe that having a students POV on a minor degree would inform us more about whether something is a good minor to take.
What it does
A website that helps people choose their minor degrees through student reviews, it's almost like a "RateMyProfessor" but for minor degrees.
How we built it
We used a web scraper to scrape the Ryerson website and grab all of the minor degrees that a student can take, displayed it on our website, and added student reviews.
Challenges we ran into
Trying to scrape the website and not get caught in a captcha quiz or web scraper detector.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to build something that's different, we used dynamic routes and API routes to navigate to many different minors within Ryerson. Hopefully in the near future, we can expand on this website and have it be used by many different universities

How to use simple web scraping and grab content from a website.
What's next for ChooseMyMinor
Add other schools, add more minor degrees, add more Quality Control systems (ratings, reviews, helpful tools/resources).
