Inspiration
Patriarchy, by definition, disenfranchises women and non-men. Financial independence is a way to take back some of that power. But how do we succeed in a field lined with so many obstacles?
What it does
A user can play the game and navigate the recruitment and hiring process through the character, Rhae.
How we built it
- Discussed potential user stories
- Researched issues that women face in the workplace
- Designed a graphic story for interview process
- Used HTML, CSS & Javascript to create interactive game for navigating job entry
Challenges we ran into
- Boiling down issues to create one storyline
- Finding actual solutions to interview obstacles
- Optimizing the logic for conditional rendering of HTML elements
What we learned
- We learned about how to navigate the issues we included in the game.
- Making something simple that works is a great start!
- Game development is fun!
- 8-bit graphic design is a whole new world!
What's next for Choose Your Win
- Exploring ways to optimize logic and utilize libraries and frameworks that make it simpler to build an interactive game
- Scaling the framework
- Expanding the current story
- Adding new stories
