Inspiration
The Odyssey. More specifically, Epic the Musical.
What it does
It is a choose-your-own-adventure style game.
How we built it
- We used Twine to make the main story interactive
- Clip Studio Paint, Krita, and Procreate for the art
- MuseScore to compose the music.
Challenges we ran into
- Twine was new to most of us.
- Collaboration on Twine is not well-supported, so collaborating, and putting our pieces together, was a challenge.
- Different writing styles also created conflict.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We finished the project.
- The diversity of our characters
- The versatility of our storytelling and artstyles.
What we learned
- How to use Twine and compile multiple files with Tweego.
- How to draw giant monsters.
- How to work on several tasks concurrently.
- Organization and time management without the use of a version control system like Git.
What's next for Choose Your Own Odyssey
- We will refine the art, writing, and story design.
- Refine transitions between elements and story parts.
- Increase the consistency.
