Inspiration
When I first chose to buy a laptop, I found that picking a laptop that was right for me was exceptionally tough for someone who didn't know the market (like me in the past). With all those dizzying configurations and so many different brands, it's always hard to make a choice. I've had my share of grueling picks and still gotten laptops that weren't what I wanted at a price that wasn't too low, and there's nothing harder than that. This was all because I didn't really recognize my needs. So I wanted to make a platform to help people understand their needs and buy the laptop of their choice.
What it does
This is an online platform on which test data of individual laptops is uploaded instantly. The data is analyzed by dedicated testers using professional software such as PCmark, 3DMark, CPU-Z, GPU-Z, Aida64, HDtune, Diskmark, and so on. After analyzing the data, we summarize the advantages and disadvantages of each laptop, the scope of the application, and purchase recommendations. Users can first check the products they tend to buy according to the rough categorization of the website (thin and light notebook, all-round notebook, gaming notebook). Then they can conduct a detailed survey on the products categorized. We strive to realize a recommendation platform that does not look at the brand but only cares about suitability.
How we built it
I use front-end knowledge including HTML, CSS, javascript, and CSS framework bootstrap to basically realize the function of the platform presentation.
Challenges we ran into
I am still in the process of learning web development and currently do not have a deep understanding of javascript. At present, I am also not very familiar with the back end, but I use the front end to basically realize the demo of this project function.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that I was able to materialize my idea by myself in a day or so and look forward to acquiring knowledge of web development and then perfecting it.
What we learned
I have learned a lot of practical experience in front-end development through this project, which is of great significance to consolidate my knowledge and application in the future.
