Inspiration
Camping out for a basketball game in the O’Dome is a quintessential UF experience and something on many students’ bucket lists. Game-goers spend hours waiting with friends and other fans, but that in-between time can still feel disconnected from the actual game day energy. There is no adequate access to community engagement, pregame player/ball knowledge, or methods for building hype together. ChompCount turns the pregame wait into an interactive experience made specifically for Gator students and fans. Instead of just standing in line, fans can stay connected, learn more about the game, and build excitement together before tipoff.

How we built it
We used Figma to build our project
Challenges we ran into
One challenge was designing an experience that feels engaging during wait times without overwhelming users with too much information.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a solution that transforms waiting in line into an exciting part of the game day experience. Our design blends utility (countdowns, weather, food options) with engagement (trivia, player highlights, fan connections). We are especially proud of the Connect & Play concept, which allows students waiting nearby to interact and play games together, strengthening school spirit and community.
What we learned
We learned how important it is to design around real user behavior and environment, not just the event itself. We also learned the value of rapid prototyping and iteration in Figma, which allowed us to test ideas quickly and refine our enhancements.
What's next for ChompCount
ChompCount could expand to other UF sporting events and become the go-to app for enhancing the Gator game day experience.
