Inspiration

In Bangladesh, accessing quick help or safe transportation remains a challenge in many everyday situations. People often struggle to find nearby support during urgent needs or when traveling. Existing solutions are often limited, slow, or not community-focused.

This inspired us to build CholoBD — a platform that connects people in real time with others around them, enabling faster assistance, better coordination, and stronger community support.

What it does

CholoBD is a real-time, location-based platform that connects users with nearby people for help, rides, and local services.

Users can discover nearby individuals, request assistance, share live location, and communicate instantly. The platform also enables hiring for tasks and services, creating both convenience and earning opportunities.

How we built it

CholoBD was developed using modern, scalable technologies:

  • Frontend: Next.js (App Router), React, Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Supabase (Authentication, Database, Realtime services)
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • Authentication: Supabase Auth and Google OAuth
  • Realtime Features: Supabase Realtime for messaging and live updates
  • Deployment: Vercel

The system is designed to handle real-time communication and location-based interactions efficiently.
