Inspiration
Drawing inspiration from released 2D & 3D casual games, our team decided to make a fun and engaging game that promotes physical activity as well.
What it does
Chloris encourages a healthy lifestyle in users by making physical activity entertaining.
How we built it
We built Chloris using Unity, C#, and Android SDK
Challenges we ran into
The challenges we faced included:
- Downloading and installing Unity
- Avoiding and Handling merge conflicts while using git
- Coding a precise pedometer
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Despite the huge learning curve with Unity and Android SDK, we are pleased with the knowledge we gained as it has provided a wonderful learning experience.
- We successfully implemented a pedometer.
- We established cross-platform compatibility with Android and IOS.
What we learned
Being that it was all of our first time making a game, we established a basic foundation for development with Unity. This includes designing a scrollable background, effective use of sprites, random generation of user collectible coins, and deployment to the Android & IOS platform.
What's next for Chloris
In the future we would want to accomplish the following:
- Produce our own assets
- Improve overall game performance
- Create a sand box environment to allow users to show off what they have collected
- Improve the pedometer with GPS
- Implement In-app purchases with collected coins
- Avatar customisation
