What it does# About Chirp
What is Chirp?
Chirp is a civic engagement platform built for the everyday Indian citizen. It brings together three things that are currently scattered, inaccessible, or simply missing — a space to debate, a tool to learn, and a tracker to hold the government accountable.
Why does it exist?
Civic participation in India is broken at the ground level. People have opinions but no structured place to express them. They hear about policies but have no easy way to understand them. Government work happens around them but there's no way to track it. Chirp fixes all three.
What does it do?
Debate — Every day, a fresh thread goes up on a current issue. Citizens can jump into live head-to-head debates (FOR vs AGAINST), watch others debate in real time, or just read and comment. After debates end, AI summarises the key arguments from both sides — no conclusions, just the facts — so anyone can catch up in 30 seconds instead of reading everything.
Learn — A chatbot that knows every major party's manifesto. Tell it your problem, it tells you which leader promised to fix it. Ask it anything about voter registration, your rights at the polling booth, or how EVMs work — it answers instantly, in plain language.
Track — A searchable database of government projects — roads, hospitals, schools, water pipelines — with budget allocation, money spent, progress percentage, and status. Filter by state, MP, MLA, or category. Know what's happening in your area and whether it's on track.
What makes it different?
Most platforms either amplify noise or gatekeep information. Chirp does the opposite — it structures debate, simplifies information, and surfaces what matters. AI isn't a gimmick here; it's what makes the platform actually usable. Without it, a citizen would need hours to follow a debate or read a manifesto. With it, they need minutes.
Who is it for?
Any Indian citizen who wants to be more than a voter once every five years.
