Chirp is created by two BC upperclassmen deep in the trenches of upper-level classes and homework, job/internship searches, grad school apps, campus jobs, club responsibilities, and more. When life gets this busy making time to stay social gets very tough, and every social interaction comes with the upfront burden of checking your calendar and working out when you're free. At the same time, though, we often find ourselves with unexpected free blocks, like getting out of class early or a meeting cancelled last minute.

Chirp aims to facilitate sponaneous social interaction without any planning or scheduling required. Simply indicate that you're free in real time and at one of a select list of campus locations, and users nearby can respond to your post requesting to chat - no calendar invites, When2Meets, or long email chains required!

We aim to recreate for all students the freshman-year feeling of constantly bumping into random new people in your dorm or in the dining hall and introducing yourself. By junior year folks are often separated off into various distinct social circles, and close friends are great, but spontaneous interaction allows for connections you'd never otherwise make!
