Inspiration

When a patient triage line, emergency clinic dispatch, or customer support workflow loses a voice call mid-sentence, callers are usually forced to dial back and repeat everything. ChimeFlow is an omnichannel triage, PII/clinical guardrail, and carrier failover workbench for teams building agentic conversations across voice (PSTN/WebRTC), SMS, and email.

What it does

  • Deterministic Multi-Channel Failover Bench: Replays four realistic triage and support scenarios across voice, SMS, and email. Inject a carrier timeout, undeliverable SMS receipt, or SIP trunk outage and inspect retries, failover edges, blocked channels, and human escalation bridges on a millisecond timeline.
  • Carrier-Exact GSM-7 / UCS-2 Segment Counter & Clinical/PII Guardrail: Counts 7-bit GSM-7 (including 2-unit extension characters) and 16-bit UCS-2 message segments, automatically masks Luhn-verified credit cards, SSNs, phone numbers, emails, and clinical tokens before any payload leaves a step, and enforces an 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM recipient local-time quiet window.
  • Interactive Web Audio DTMF Keypad & Confidence-Gated Conversation Simulator: Run a live triage conversation in the browser where pressing keypad digits synthesizes real ITU-T dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) sine pairs while low-confidence or red-flag clinical phrases escalate immediately to a human operator.
  • Verified Payload & Lambda Scaffolder: Exports schema-checked request payloads (SpeakAndGetDigits, PlayAudioAndGetDigits, CallAndBridge, SendTextMessage, SendEmail, CreateSipMediaApplication) and a ready-to-adapt handler scaffold.

How we built it

Built in zero-dependency vanilla JavaScript (engine.js, render.js, app.js) with SVG timeline visualizations, Web Audio API DTMF synthesis, and automated node:test unit and DOM smoke suites verifying GSM-7/UCS-2 segmentation, Luhn/PII redaction, failover state machines, and payload schemas.
