Inspiration

Most things are more fun with friends and loved ones. No exception to this is streaming, it is more fun to watch movies and series with other people or a significant other. We want to make the possibility of streaming together more accessible, which is why we built this application

What it does

chill2gether helps you find the perfect people to watch streams with. Using our advanced algorithm and data about series that you watched in the past, aswell as the data of thousands of individual TV and streaming productions, we enable you to find other people who like the same kinds of series and movies as you. You then get to decide if you want to get in contact with that person based, or if you would rather keep swiping.

How we built it

We used a mixture of Flask and React in order to ensure the best user experience.

Challenges we ran into

It was quite difficult for us to measure the scope of the project accordingly. Since most members of our team used Flask for the first time, we had to overcome lots of difficult problems that occured to us on our way to building chill2gether

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud to have managed to port the data that was provided to us by Hubert Burda Media into our own database.

What we learned

A lot about Flask, React, Python, Databases, efficient Teamwork and so much more.

What's next for chill2gether

We could broaden our spectrum by providing more information about people you have matched with. Furthermore, a chat function would be nice, in order for people to not have to share their email with their matches immediately.
