Inspiration
We noticed staff members of a student-run LGBTQ+ organization waste time on automatable tasks. So we wanted to come up with a solution that integrated into their workflow.
What it does
Handels important facets of managing meetings on Discord, from reserving space to recording meetings to view later
How we built it
We used a variety of tools in order to complete our task in the most time-effective manner. These technologies include, but are not limited to, Py-cord - to manage the bot aspects of the software, Google Drive API - in order to document the interactions
Challenges we ran into
Both team members ventured into technologies that they were previously inexperienced with allowing them to gain more experience while working towards their task.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were successfully able to implement our original idea while using unfamiliar technologies. We were able to successfully navigate the intricacies of programming in a group as well as effectively use version control software to manage our code.
What we learned
As previously stated, using technology we were unfamiliar with.
What's next for Chilean-Flamingo
We hope to gain feedback in order to develop the bot further and add more implementations similar to aligning the schedules of staff members with respect to meeting times.
