Inspiration
"I'm deeply inspired to build an app that addresses domestic abuse and provides underprivileged children with resources because I believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment to thrive in. By leveraging technology, I hope to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who need it most and contribute to a safer, more equitable society."
What it does
- Awareness and Education Hub: Create a web app that offers comprehensive information, articles, and videos about child domestic violence, its causes, signs, and preventive measures. Include resources for parents, teachers, and caregivers.
- Reporting and Support Platform: a secure platform where individuals can report suspected cases of child domestic violence, providing the option to remain anonymous if desired. Connect users with local support services and resources.
- Emergency Help App: it provides quick access to emergency contacts, resources, and shelters for children experiencing domestic violence. Includes a panic button feature that can alert trusted contacts or authorities.
- Support Network and Community: Build an online community where survivors, advocates, and professionals can connect, share experiences, offer advice, and provide emotional support to those affected by child domestic violence.
- Therapeutic Resources Platform: it offers self-help tools, coping strategies, and therapeutic resources tailored to children who have experienced domestic violence, aiding in their healing process.
- School and Teacher Resource Center: it provides a resource center for educators, providing lesson plans, activities, and materials to help them recognize signs of child domestic violence, provide appropriate support, and create a safe environment for children.
- Virtual Counseling and Support: it provides a virtual counseling platform where trained professionals can offer counseling sessions to children and families affected by domestic violence, providing a safe and confidential space for seeking help.
How we built it
We built it using Reactjs in the front end and Nodejs for the backend. We used git as source control and we used video SDK for implementing video conferencing in the app
Challenges we ran into
We had challenges with the time zone and also with the source control but we solved it together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we could actually build an app from scratch. We are also proud that we could work together as a team without having any issues and problems on the way
What we learned
We learned how to work as a team I as the team leader learnt how to lead a team. This project also sharpened my git skills For the front end developer , he Learnt some new backend terminologies.
What's next for Childsupport-app
I have strong faith that the project will win this Hackathon by the grace of God. When we win we would put it to production.
