Inspiration

South Africa has a major challenge in unemployment and economic downturn. There are many businesses that fail within the first 2 years (80%). I want to be able to help business seekers find their calling by using AI to guide them through the ideation and planning process in an exciting way.

What it does

Startify guides the user through business idea generation and selection through to helping them better understand their target market, customers, challenges and pricing options. It also provides the user with funding options to help them get started. I like the business name and logo generator which can be an added spark of innovation for the entrepeneur.

Challenges we ran into

This is likely to be a project that can be optimised as PartyRock app likes to continously refresh widgets that should probably only be done through the user once they are ready to proceed. I think the best way to implement this is through an AI-assisted wizard that optimises when and how the LLMs are used.

What we learned

So much opportunity to grow this. I have first hand experience of this in South Africa and I believe we can take this to many new levels by building additional products to support young , passionate or desperate entrepeneurs in the country.

What's next for Startify

Extend beyond just English, help those that cannot understand English by providing Startify in their home language. In addition, incorporate voice-based prompting to remove the need for technology literacy in developing countries and poorer areas that have many business opportunities to help their communities.
