Children Market Cashier Software

Inspiration

I was inspired by Kiosk devices at cashiers use at Meijers.

What it does

Children Market is for children to sell vegetables and fruits easily without any calculation mistakes. It also teaches children how to use database effectively and how to print a reciept. Not limited to this, it also helps children to sort and search product data.

How we built it

I first created a database that stores product details. After that I created buttons that sorts the values given, searches the products by name and description, assigns group of values to the database and prints the reciept. I additionally created a section where the user calculates the total price. After all that development process, I debug the application several times in order to fix the bugs.

Challenges we ran into

Creating the MySQL database was much more difficult than I expected. Also I had problems on creating buttons that assign information about specific products. Lastly, I had problem on creating the print page.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

After all that hardship I had on Database Management with MySQL, I finally made an application based MySQL. But most importantly, I am proud that I made an application for children selling fruits and vegetables on the street. With this application they will be able to sell more products.

What we learned

I expanded MySQL skills while I was developing this application. At least I learned the fundamentals of MySQL which would be helpful for my future applications.
