Inspiration

President Joe Biden recently signed a bill declaring that Juneteenth to be a new federal holiday. We created this website to help inform individuals who might not know why this new holiday is important.

What it does

The website provides some basic and quick information about Juneteenth. It gives some history, how it's celebrated, and why it resonates within the black community.

How we built it

We used HTML and CSS to build the website on Replit. Being that it was most of our team's first time working with these languages, we're pretty proud of how it turned out.

Challenges we ran into

The images in general were a big issue, getting the proportions right and orientated the way we had initially imagined. It was also hard to get the button to work and to look nice with the rest of the page.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the formatting and the images to work how we wanted was a big obstacle so we're glad it's fixed and good looking. We're proud of how the button changes color when you hover over it, and that fits in the space we had left over.
