Inspiration

As college students passionate about art and technology, we were inspired by the idea of bridging the gap between art enthusiasts and creators. We wanted to create a platform that not only provides a seamless experience for buying and selling art but also fosters a sense of community among artists and buyers.

What it does

Chibi Canvas is a revolutionary e-commerce platform that empowers artists to showcase and sell their artworks while allowing art enthusiasts to discover and acquire unique pieces. Our platform hosts a vast array of artworks, from paintings to sculptures, giving users an immersive art-buying experience.

How we built it

Using our combined skills in web development and design, we built Chibi Canvas from the ground up. We employed modern web technologies, including React, Node, Express, Sql, CSS, and JavaScript, to craft an intuitive and visually appealing user interface. For the backend, we built a robust database to manage artist profiles, artwork listings, and user accounts.

Challenges we ran into

Getting, the login/create Account feature was an obstacle as well as connecting to the database and having an operational shopping cart

We are proud to have created a platform showcasing our dedication to art and technology. The seamless navigation, and artist profiles process stand as significant achievements. Our proudest accomplishment, however, is fostering a space where artists can thrive and buyers can find their perfect piece of art.

What we learned

Throughout the development of Chibi Canvas, we gained valuable insights into the complexities of e-commerce platforms and user experience design. We honed our teamwork and communication skills, learning how to effectively combine our individual strengths to achieve a common goal.

What's next for Chibi Canvas

In the future, we envision expanding Chibi Canvas by introducing features such as an art recommendation engine powered by machine learning. We also plan to collaborate with art institutions to promote emerging artists and host virtual exhibitions. With the support of our growing community, we aim to evolve Chibi Canvas into a global hub for art enthusiasts and creators alike.
