Inspiration
Our inspiration was coming up with a simple, but unique application. We came up with the idea of making a 3D chess board game since most chess games are 2D.
What it does
It is supposed to be a two player online chess board game where the each person takes their turn moving their piece.
How we built it
We used Unity and Visual Studio to create this application.
Challenges we ran into
We had lots of trouble setting up Unity and getting everything to link together. We especially had trouble coming up with how to get the pieces to move, which is why our project does not work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the fact that we use our own assets - our own original models of chess pieces to create this game.
What we learned
We learned that we should probably set up our tools ahead of time so we do not take up too much time setting things up and losing time to code. That was our big problem during Hackathon.
What's next for Chess
We need to figure out how to get the chess pieces to make (legal) moves, and figure out when check, stalemate, and checkmate occurs.
