Inspiration

Even as chess increases in popularity and finds so many new players every day, many are afraid to take up the game out of fear of not knowing much. But indeed, every chess master was once a beginner. Running the chess club at my school has made me realize some people are too afraid to try, even with the health benefits, simply out of a fear that they won't be "good"

What it does

Teaches people how to play chess, and informs of benefits of chess

How I built it

Used HTML , CSS, and jquery in Brackets.

Challenges I ran into

How to present the rules of chess in a way that is simple to understand

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Visual look of the site and the easy navigation

What I learned

In education, it can be very important to keep things simple. Overloading someone with information can often times have the opposite intended effect and cause more harm than good

What's next for Chess to Improve YOU

I will use this as an introductory site for the chess club at my school next year, and teach chess in my community through school programs.
