Chess + Blackjack Culture in Miami

Our project was inspired by our team's love of chess, blackjack, Miami, and learning about the cultures of the world.

This website allows you to play games and click various buttons to provide information about the culture of the games and how they are tied to Miami.

We built it in replit using Java, HTML, and CSS, and also ran it in VSCode.

We ran into the challenges of programming the board for the chess game.

We are proud that we could code two entire games in 2 days.

Some of us learned more about html and CSS, and others learnt about java.

We will expand this project to include more games with history in Miami.

I worked in the chess game using java. It was my first time doing a project in team.

I worked mostly on the blackjack game, helped with the html and css on the chess game, and wrote the info pages. I'm a second-time hacker!

Riya Shah
I worked on developing the frontend for the Chess Game and integrating it with the backend APIs. Next, I validated the functionality of the chess game and fixed bugs. Finally, to make the game interesting I have added random Miami Fun Fact banner to the chess game webpage.

Sahiti Tadepalli
I worked mostly on Blackjack and stylization of the pages. I made the base code for blackjack in js. I also used html, css and js to style the pages in the retro style.
