Inspiration
Our inspiration for Cheque Mate came from the automated systems we encounter when calling companies. These systems are direct, user-friendly, and efficient. We wanted to bring this level of accessibility and ease of use to the internet, especially for elderly people who may find navigating the digital world challenging.
What it does
Cheque Mate is a website and web app designed to empower elderly people to make informed decisions about their financial data on the internet. It provides resources and tools that simplify the process of understanding and managing financial information online.
How we built it
We built Cheque Mate using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and a couple of APIs. Our goal was to create a platform that was both functional and user-friendly, ensuring that our users could easily navigate and utilize the resources provided.
Challenges we ran into
During the development process, we encountered a few challenges. These included issues with our GitHub repositories not updating correctly, difficulties in designing a sleek footer, and implementing text-to-speech functionality. However, we were able to overcome these obstacles and learn from them.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are incredibly proud of the potential that Cheque Mate has shown. Despite the challenges we faced, we were able to create a platform that can truly make a difference in the lives of our users. We are excited about the impact it can have and are eager to continue improving it.
What we learned
This project taught us that there is a significant need for user-friendly digital tools for the elderly. We also learned valuable lessons in web development, collaboration, and problem-solving.
What's next for Cheque Mate
The next step for Cheque Mate is to implement an AI or API that can interact with users in a similar manner to an automated phone system. This will allow users to communicate with the website verbally, making it even more accessible and easy to use. We believe this feature will greatly enhance the user experience and are excited to see it in action.
