...##Chemical Reaction Sim The inspiration of this project started with the chemical engineering industry and how there should be a system to record and measure inputs in a chemical plant to calculate excess emissions and track if there is any kind of hazardous leakage or impurities. This slowly evolved into more of an educational program for kids, an interactive website for kids to tinker with chemicals and create a virtual simulation of reactions in a safe environment. We wanted to start small with a website that would represent chemical reactions that create salts (Ionic bonds). It would function by showing the periodic table and allowing users to select whatever Anions and Cations to the "Reaction Box" and press a button to let the magic (or science) happen.
