Inspiration
Chemistry is one of the hardest and most tedious subjects in school, and we thought that we can create a project that can serve as an aid, which would be useful for a student struggling in chemistry.
What it does
Our project helps you practice a range of chemistry questions for individual knowledge and development.
How we built it
Python for backend development logic and using HTML, CSS, and React and Material UI for the website component.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble transferring the python code into the website as none of us had previous web development experience. Our solution was to translate the essential bits of python into JavaScript and put them directly into the website. We also had trouble uploading the video.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a functional chemistry question generator, as well as our first website!
What we learned
We learned important skills regarding coding and able to put pieces together into a final project. We also learned individual languages (Python, HTML, CSS), web dev, and how to work in a team.
What's next for ChemHacks
We are planning on adding more questions about solubility and stoichiometry. We also would like to add a timer to track how quickly the user gets the questions done.
