We were inspired by the Covid 19 education challenges we have all faced, especially regarding science. Not everyone is able to learn the same as they would in an in-person environment, since they cannot get the same hands-on experience as they would in a lab. Or can they?

What it does

Our company allows students to use AR to do experiments, dissections, projects, and more. Our mobile app is easy to use and offers several features to let students experience a lab from the comfort of their home.

How we built it

We will build it using Flutter and EchoAR. For now, we made a prototype of the app screens in Adobe XD.

Challenges we ran into

It was very difficult to figure out how to incorporate EchoAR. We realized that we would have to use their cross platform functionality, paired with a software like ARCore, to combine the fast rendering of EchoAR with a environmental processor to let students view their models in the 'real world'.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we put this project together in such a short timeframe. We learned a lot throughout this process, and we all feel like we are happy with the final result.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how to work together as a team and a lot about AR. We had to do a lot of research to learn more about business, cross-platform functionality for AR apps, 3D modelling, and more. We also had to learn how to put a video together for our submission.

What's next for ChemBox

We will continue to grow and develop this project in the future. Initially we will start small, with just a few features, but as we grow, we will incorporate more and more into our mobile app.
