Inspiration
My inspiration for this project came from my love for chemistry and the challenges that come with it especially memorizing all the numbers, constants, and formulas. While I enjoy learning the concepts, I often find myself wishing there was a faster way to access the information I need without flipping through notes or textbooks. That’s why I wanted to create something that makes it easier to find those “quick numbers” a tool that helps students like me stay focused on understanding chemistry rather than getting stuck on memorization.
What it does
It's an easy-to-use website that gives students quick access to essential chemistry numbers and formulas. Instead of flipping through textbooks or trying to memorize everything, users can instantly find constants, equations, and reference data all in one place. It’s designed to save time, reduce stress, and help students focus more on understanding chemistry concepts rather than struggling to recall every detail.
How I built it
I built this project as part of the guided track, which provided a basic framework to start with. From there, I customized and expanded the structure to better fit my vision. With my goal of making chemistry numbers and formulas more accessible. By building on the foundation I was given, I was able to focus not only the creative and functional aspects but also learn more about code as a beginner.
Challenges we ran into
As a beginner coder, one of the biggest challenges I faced was simply figuring out how to make things work. I often ran into problems I didn’t know how to solve right away, which made the process feel overwhelming at times(I cried). But I kept pushing through learning by trial and error, asking questions, and experimenting until I got it right. Each obstacle became a chance to grow, and overcoming those hurdles is helping me build confidence in my coding skills.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One of the biggest accomplishments I’m proud of is simply not giving up. When I first arrived, I honestly wanted to go home; I felt out of place as an inexperienced high school student, unfamiliar with hackathons and without a team. It was intimidating, and I questioned whether I belonged. But I chose to stay, to push through the discomfort, and to keep learning. That perseverance is something I’m truly proud of, and it has motivated me to continue my journey with coding and to keep learning!
