Inspiration- We always try to participate in cleanup efforts and community service opportunities yet we don’t see them working. We realised this was because the community wasn’t putting in the effort, hence our idea to make an app that connects the community in it efforts and incentivises the efforts.

What it does- It incentivises the users to participate in activities through rewards and leaderboards. It also brings the community together to help the ecosystem through sharing of opportunities and a general leaderboard to further spur the growth of change.

How we built it- We built a rough prototype on HTML, but didn’t make the whole app as being in year 8 and not being allowed to participate in the advanced coding section of the hackathon, we chose to do the pitch. We have made a ppt to support our prototype as well sketches of how we would have wanted the app to look did we have more time and resources. We were part of the innovation and design pitch section in the contest.

Challenges we ran into- Some challenges we ran into were completing on time and making sure our work made cohesive sense as we were working in a group. As well as this the coding part of the project was quite challenging and we worked really hard to troubleshoot and overcome the issues we faced, like syntax errors. We also learnt through videos different functions that we needed for the app and applied them in the prototype.

Accomplishments that we're proud of- The prototype for one as it was extremely difficult to make it so quickly and with such little help, but also the video as we are proud of our editing skills as well as our voiceovers.

What we learned- We learnt time management and also communication in making sure our teammates completed the work but also learnt a lot more in the field of coding and our editing skills drastically improved after this video. Along with this our sketches leave detail to be desired but we think that they are fairly informative and convey our point.

What's next for Cheer Chain- We hope to expand cheer chain into a fully functional app that connects people in community service initiatives across the globe and also partner with NGOs and schools for a wider range of activities.
