checkmAIt was made from a combined love of board games amongst the groupmembers, who wanted to do an integrated hack. We pondered what games could be best improved with technology, and thought of implementing a chess game where you don't have to move the pieces and can play against an AI (or another person). The goal was to have the game integrated with Google speech to text, but due to us overscoping ourselves, we were unable to get it working completely reliably, so we also allow users to input moves through a computer. The game accepts standard chess notation and algebraic chess notation.
