Inspiration

Nowadays, private space privacy is considered more and more significant, especially when living with multiple roommates. College dorm is a perfect example to interpret a situation like that.

What it does

When the host is away from home, CheckM8 system will be activated. If any actions of opening a door is detected by the motion sensor, it will trigger the alarm and the camera which takes a photo of the intruder. Our website provides a real-time data report on the status of the door. User should be able to see what time the door has been opened, with a photo attached.

How I built it

Challenges I ran into

When we were making the prototype, the wood was too thick, the saw machine could not even cut it straight. In the end, we had to saw the wood ourselves, which we spent so much time on.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Teamwork is definitely one of the accomplishments that I am really proud of. We were able to distribute various types of work to several people. We communicate with each other whenever we encountered issues during the process, which became the most efficient way for us to resolve issues.

What I learned

This is my first time coding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, I learnt so much out of this project working with my teammates, I gained a deeper understanding on the relationship in between them.
