CheckIt

Inspiration

Most of us can agree that the 2016 presidential debates are unlike any other debates. Primarily, they aren’t productive. Nominees contradict and accuse each other of lying. There seems to be no way for the general public to know what exactly the truth is and the rift of opposing views growing. In order to improve the general public’s understanding of some of the most prominent issues in the United States, we present CheckIt as a solution.

What it does

CheckIt makes use of natural language processing APIs to convert speech to text, and then perform syntax and sentiment analysis and entity recognition to accurately create a basis for fact checking. Eventually we will implement video and image processing as well. We feed our our application these inputs so that it has a running record of information to check against. Any contradicting statements will trigger an alert.
